Effective Dueling and Experience Stars

This tutorial belongs to PurpleBondGirl, please do not make copies.

To win any thing in life you must have strategy.

The one thing that is not taught in this game is the strategy of it.

Players are never taught, by the game, that our skills are most important.

Skills are the key to getting more wins from duels, getting more cash in these wins, and getting into better clubs.

The clothes will always be there in the mall waiting for you to come buy them but the window of opportunity to increase

your skills is best while you are at a low enough level to have full control and still be able to afford to do your practises.

All 6 skills are equally important.

You are only as strong as your weakest skill.

As As a guide I most often get asked these questions;

How can I get better?

How can I stop people from taking so much money?

How can I win more duels?

How can I win more cash from my duels?

Why do I have to duel to make money?

How do I get more stars?

There is one answer that answers every single one of these questions...

STRATEGY

Below is the guide I usually send to anyone who needs help with these issues.

Even though I named this page Effective dueling,

I will be focusing on skills and ways of improving them.

This guide is to teach you how to become stronger in the duels.

Here are some steps you can take to increase your chances of getting more cash. If you can't afford to buy lucky lady talent, you can buy popularity bonuses for 3 emeralds each to boost a skill in points.    I advise to use the + pb's as opposed to the % pb's because the +'s will tell you exactly how much more you will have in that skill. You can consume a few of these or all six skills.  This makes you stronger.  And stacking pb's will make you even stronger, increasing your odds that much more. To stack pb's you consume an 8 hour pb with a 12 hour pb and then you can also add a car to that stack.

You need to beware of those players who have also used pb's (which will be marked with an arrow) because they may have consumed more than you did and therefore win the duel.

Then you need to learn how to duel effectively. I only teach this to the few players who ask for help. First you'll need to click the orange button that says view report. This will allow you to see the other person's skills, more clearly, before you challenge them, ensuring you are likely to win. While you are looking for " weaker" players to challenge, look at their clothes. Make sure they have something relevant on. If they are not wearing anything new from an event, or they have on the same outfit as last week, they are less active or inactive, and you'll win barely anything from them. A lot of players will get busy with life and stop playing for long periods of time. Once you win a huge amount from a player, go to her profile page and make her an opponent so you will be able to remember to challenge her again. You can only win about 10% of what they have in their bank so remember the names of those who give you nothing & avoid them, don't waste your energy on them.  Also pay attention to when you last got dueled so you don't lose everything you've earned. You can only be dueled once in an hour. If you are losing more than you are winning it's because you have stacked up too much cash in your bank and the last hour was up before you spent it so it got dueled away from you instead. Pay attention to the server clock, always, when you are dueling.

So many players really hate to do the duels at all but it is the primary source of income so it is a huge part of the game. It is completely unavoidable to duel. IMO the best strategy in the game is to keep levels low, skills high, get pets trained as soon as possible, and don't sweat the players you have to duel to make your income. In each duel, you win approximately 10% of the other players bank. Because their bank is not the same as your bank, you will never see the same amounts. Most players learn early on that if you don't have a dueling strategy, you can't really win enough money to accomplish what you want.

Many things go into how strong an opponent is in the arena. While the developers have applied a "formula" to this, we can do a few things to put the duel in our favor. Consuming pb's, buying a talent, being in a club, being in a club with certain trophies, and keeping levels as low as possible all play into how strong someone is in the fashion arena. I say certain trophies because there are trophies that claim to give extra % in duels, however, I have never seen proof of this even though some clubs swear by them.

For players who do not want stars, you must always duel those players who are below your level. This is strategy, this is not bullying, being mean, or being rude. It is part of the game and if you want to be a good strong player, don't trip on this.

Here is an example of a duel. I have $1200 in my bank, this means that if I lose, I will lose about $120-$150. The other person has $100 in their bank because they just did a practise. The most I can take from them is maybe $12 but most likely it will be around $10. For you to win $1000 from a player, they must have a stockpile of cash equaling at least $11,000. Its never exactly 10% that is exchanged because of the "formula" but 10% is around what the winnings are.

The next guide is all about getting stars or not getting stars

This is a guide more about stars, what they do and how to get them. Stars represent experience.   When you earn stars it changes your experience level and you can watch this change if you go to the Rankings in the Contest section. Click on "Show me" to go straight to your own ranking.  Do not trip on this rankings list. Its virtually impossible to stay at the top because its everchanging and you will waste time, energy, cash, and be left with only frustration when you still drop from first place. In short, this list means nothing. The only experience list that matters is the total experience list. This will tell you how far you are from your achievement goals but this list, too, is everchanging. Its very challenging to reach 200 and you aren't likely to do it before you reach level 30.

There are several ways to earn stars. 1) You can work for stars. 2) You can duel for stars in fashion arena 3) you can earn stars in parties 4) You join a club, & partake in the fashion shows to get 10 stars each time a fashion shows gets completed. And, (5) You can earn them in the daily tasks.

NOW: Before you plan on dueling, go and look into your duels folder in messages, to see when you got challenged last. You have 1 hour after the last time, before you get dueled again, so if you watch the server clock, you can earn lots of cash in duels and have it spent before this hour is up. Once your cash is earned, the first thing you should do is train your pets if you have them because this will be the most expensive thing. Do this before anything else, while you have a lot of cash, spend the remaining cash on your furniture, boyfriend happiness, voting, club donations etc. Never leave cash in your bank. Anything over $99 can be spent and should be spent before someone duels you to take it from you. If you're in a club this little bit of leftover cash should be donated to your club's cash bank and over the course of a day it gets to be close to what most clubs ask for.

Dueling for stars takes some strategy. Always keep it in mind that as much as you want to level up to buy better clothes & more furniture, it will make your skills weaker every time you level up. The higher your skills are at a low level, the stronger you are in duels & as a player overall. For example; in my club I never look at the level but the skills must be a total of 250 points to join us, because the points are the most important thing about a player.

Regardless; to earn stars dueling ( or not) you must first go to the fashion arena and use the weakest setting, then you click on the button that says view report so that you can see, more clearly, how strong the opponent is before you challenge her. Compare the points and make sure you can win (assumably). Always choose another if need be until you find just the right person to beat. Then look at her level so if you want stars make sure her level is equal or more than yours. You can duel 5 levels above you or 5 levels below you, depending on if you want stars or not. This is how you can COMPLETELY control how fast you level up, or not at all. 5 levels above you gives you 6 stars, & each level closer to yours is one star less. A level equal to you is 1 star. And there are no stars for levels below yours.

I always advise players not to level up too soon or too often. Always increase each skill at least 10-20 times or more before you level up or your higher levels will make your skills weak. This is something I had to learn on my own a year ago & now my game is suffering for it. If you don't build your skill strength in the beginning levels (below 17), its practically impossible to turn things around after this point. Its always good to set goals for yourself. Say at level 9, you make it a goal to buy everything in the furniture store, and everything in the pet store, and finish training your pet. Then maybe your skills are good enough for you to level up. Or you can also finish off a few boyfriends too before you level up. And, you can also set a goal of say, each skill should be at 50 or 60 or even 90 Before you go to the next level. Setting goals for yourself will help you to achieve a stronger status and the stronger you become the fewer players above you will come to duel you. Imagine this. If a level 9 has only 10 or 20 in each skill and maybe a few in between, then along comes a level 8 with her skills in the 50's. Who will win the duel? It will absolutely be the level 8.

Last year the admins added the daily task list as an added feature for earning stars and cash. As with every single thing in this game, you must give something to get something. You will have to pay to do each of the tasks but in the end, you do earn back everything 10 fold. This is a good way to earn a healthy chunk of cash if you don't mind spending some cash to do these things first. The lucky cards mostly just rips you off. but if you have to play it to get to the big reward, so be it. Personally, I find stars to be deceptive but sometimes they can't be avoided.

Keep in mind that strategy is the only to get ahead and become stronger in this game. You can't prevent anyone from dueling you, and you can't prevent anyone from dueling you many times but they are only allowed to duel you 5 times in a day. Always keep in mind that the other person could have a talent, more pb's than you can imagine, and also club trophies which will increase the amount of cash they take from you. Your best defense is your own timing and strategy. Also keep in mind that each time you level up you become within reach of more higher skilled players, who will be much stronger than you and will want to duel you more hoping you will leave a full bank for them.

(1)always check your folder for the last time you got dueled
(2)always consume a pb or two or as many as you can afford
(3)always duel then spend all your cash within this 1 hour window
(4)always duel players who are active
(5)always watch the clock.

During the first week of June in 2017 the admins decided to change the entire skills/points system. We suspect they did this because they didn't want to expand our furniture or pet stores but regardless of why, it is an acceptable change to our game.

In the old system, each skill had its own set of points to be earned in very specific ways. The new system has changed all of that. While many players are still going to buy out the furniture and pet stores to increase their skills, all of these points can now be distributed to any skill needing to be increased.

The only exception to this new system of distribution is the loyalty skill which still must be increased by buying a pet.

Another change is that the cost of a vote changed from $50 to $100. Making it harder and more expensive to run for a podium contest, and more expensive to vote for all of your friends.

I used to encourage all players to do practise as soon as they could build up enough cash to do so but this is also a bit outdated now that the new system is in place. It is simply easier and somewhat cheaper to go to the mall and buy everything possible then put those points into the most needed skill. I think now it will be better to save the practise's for when applying points actually costs more.
